At just nineteen, Kat Krys is already carving out her place in Canada’s country/folk scene with a sound that’s as heartfelt as it is grounded in Alberta roots. Hailing from Sherwood Park, Kat has been performing for over six years, honing her craft across more than 150 shows. Her powerful vocals, natural storytelling, and signature twang have captivated audiences at major venues and festivals including The Aviary, BVJ Horizon Stage, Ravenwood Festival, Ranchman’s, and the CCMA Country Crawl.

 

Kat’s songwriting is instinctual and honest; capturing emotions in the moment and transforming them into relatable, soul-stirring music. Her March 2024 acoustic EP, Feels Like Home, explores themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, revealing a lyrical maturity well beyond her years. Her latest single Times Three, released in October 2024, adds a playful kick to her catalog with an upbeat country vibe that’s pure Alberta charm.

 

Recognized for her talent early on, Kat has received nominations and awards including the CMAB Horizon Youth Award and the SPMF Best Senior Popular Vocal award. She’s also been featured on stations like CJWE, River Country 94.9, CKMS 102.7 FM, CFWE, and more, continuing to build buzz across the province.
